Tablet presses are used to compress powder and form tablets, pills, or vitamins.

They are defined as manual, semi-automatic or fully automatic machines that can be used for the compaction or molding of solid tablets. They are also sometimes referred to as tablet punching machines. The early tablet presses were single punch machines adapted from metal presses used for stamping steel and other materials and produced 400 to 600 tablets a minute, whereas the modern tablet presses of today can produce up to 10,000 tablets per minute.

Tablet presses are used by pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and cosmetic companies. They are required to be easy to clean and quick to reconfigure with different tooling, because they are usually used to manufacture many different products.

Tablet presses, also called tableting machines, range from small, inexpensive bench-top models that make one tablet at a time (single-station presses), to large, computerized, industrial models (multi-station rotary presses) that can make hundreds of thousands to millions of tablets an hour. They compress a volume of powder, captured in a die, between two rollers using an upper and lower punch.  Once the distance between the  rollers is set, the compression force will stay the same, thus ensuring that tablets are compressed to an equal thickness  (ET). Many newer tablet presses include a CNC or computer control element. This greatly increases the efficiency of the production process by making it easier to coordinate different stages of production.  Pressing rate, rotation speed, and automated tooling inspections are often features of computer controlled presses.

Autoclaves are instruments that are used to eliminate or remove all forms of microbes including fungi, bacteria, and viruses. They are used in diverse fields from medicine and mushrooms to rocket science and body piercing. Autoclaves are found in research, diagnostic and microbiology laboratories, health centers and manufacturing facilities that require the sterility of an object and high-levels of disinfection.

Autoclaves have become increasingly popular in recent years due to greater awareness of their advantages. They are used in pre-disposal treatment & sterilization of waste materials, composites curing & rubber vulcanization. Autoclaves utilize moist heat in the form of saturated steam under pressure and resemble small ovens and work much like pressure cookers. This process, which is dependent on temperature, time, contact, and moisture to be effective, is the most reliable method of sterilization and destroying bio hazardous or infectious waste.

Autoclaves come in different sizes and have a variety of capacities. They are available in ranges from 1.5 kW to 500 kW and available in vertical, stainless steel, double door, high pressure, vacuum, & vulcanizing varieties. Autoclaves are broken down into floor models and bench top. Floor models are free standing and either loaded from the top or the front of the machine. Bench top models which offer less capacity than floor models are ideal for locations that are short on space.

National Sterilizer Autoclave

ACCUMULATING TABLES are machinery & equipment used in the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical & cosmetic industries for processing & packaging applications. They are available in various sizes & materials with adjustable table heights & fixed & variable rotation speeds, and are suitable for collecting bottles, vials, cartons, boxes, tubes & various packing materials. Rotary accumulating tables are used with a conveyor line to receive bottles, vials, jars, containers & cans. Bi-directional tables are used to accumulate product in the event that a particular piece of equipment in the line is down, so that that other processes (filling, labeling, cartoning) can continue. Standard specifications of rotary accumulating tables include height of 35 in. plus/minus 2 in., & table diameters of 36 in., 48 in. & 60 in., & T.E.F.C. motor speed of 3 or 6 rpm, although most are variable speed design.

Accumulating tables are utilized for accumulating and feeding product and are operationally connected with a production or handling line so that the items either travel along the same path toward and away from the accumulating table or travel along one path to the table and along a different path from the table depending on production requirements. They can be configured to handle a wide variety of containers and floor plans.

As the cost of a new accumulating or bi-flow table can be anywhere from $4000.00 to $30,000.00, many manufacturers consider quality used equipment for their cost efficiency and immediate delivery.
